Kojic acid dipalmitate is a modified derivative of kojic acid. It overcomes the instability of kojic acid to light, heat and metal ions, and maintains the efficacy of kojic acid in inhibiting tyrosinase activity and blocking the formation of skin melanin. Moreover, this inhibition is stronger than that of kojic acid, making it a new generation of highly effective whitening active agent.
