 Usage

Photoinitiator TPO is a highly efficient free radical (1) type photoinitiator that absorbs in a long wavelength range. Due to its very wide absorption range, its effective absorption peak is 350-400nm and it absorbs continuously up to about 420nm. Its absorption peak is longer than that of conventional initiators. After illumination, two free radicals, benzoyl and phosphoryl, can be generated, both of which can initiate polymerization. Therefore, the photocuring speed is fast. It also has a photobleaching effect and is suitable for thick film deep curing and the characteristic of non-yellowing coating. It has low volatility and is suitable for water-based systems.

It is mostly used in white systems and can be applied to UV-curable coatings, printing inks, UV-curable adhesives, optical fiber coatings, photoresists, photopolymer printing plates, stereolithography resins, composite materials, dental filling materials, etc.
As a photoinitiator, it is mainly used in screen printing inks, lithographic printing inks, flexographic printing inks, and wood coatings. TPO can be completely cured on white or highly titanium dioxide pigmented surfaces. It is widely used in various coatings. Due to its excellent absorption properties, it is particularly suitable for screen printing inks, lithographic printing, flexographic printing inks, and wood coatings. The coating does not turn yellow, has a low post-polymerization effect, and leaves no residue. It can also be used in transparent coatings, especially suitable for products with low odor requirements. When used alone in unsaturated polyesters containing styrene systems, it has a very high initiation efficiency. For acrylate systems, especially colored systems, it usually needs to be used in combination with amines or acrylamides. At the same time, it is compounded with other photoinitiators to achieve complete curing of the system. It is particularly suitable for the curing of low-yellowing, white systems and thick film layers. When the photoinitiator TPO is used in combination with MOB 240 or CBP 393, the curing efficiency can be improved. It is the best extraction solvent for petroleum aromatic hydrocarbon units and is also used as a formylation reagent in the field of fine chemicals.
