Usage
Acid chlorides are important raw materials for the synthesis of other organic compounds, and are widely used in the fields of pharmaceuticals, dyes, pesticides, and coatings.
They can be used to prepare acyl chloride derivatives such as acyl chloride esters, amides, and acyl chloride ethers.
Cocoyl chloride was synthesized by reacting phosgene with coconut fatty acid under the conditions of no catalyst, high temperature and activated carbon decolorization. The effects of reaction temperature, activated carbon content and phosgene gas velocity on the component content, yield and chromaticity of cocoyl chloride product were investigated. The results show that when the reaction temperature is 120 ℃, the mass ratio of activated carbon to coconut fatty acid is 1.5%, and the phosgene gas velocity is 0.8 L/min, the yield of cocoyl chloride can reach 96% and the APHA chromaticity is 130.
