This product can copolymerize with many monomers such as acrylic acid and its esters, acrolein, acrylonitrile, acrylamide, methacrylonitrile, vinyl chloride, styrene, etc. The resulting products can be used to treat fibers, improving the fiber's water resistance, solvent resistance, wrinkle resistance and waterproofness. It is also used to manufacture high - performance thermosetting coatings, synthetic rubbers, and as a lubricant additive. In terms of adhesives, copolymerizing with vinyl monomers can improve their bonding strength. In paper processing, it is used to prepare acrylic emulsions for coatings, which can improve the water resistance and strength of the paper. Hydroxyethyl acrylate can be used as an active diluent and cross - linking agent in radiation - curing systems. It can also be used as a resin cross - linking agent, and a modifier for plastics and rubbers.
